At Salarly, financial inclusion is more than a mission statement. It is a promise to help future generations gain the knowledge and confidence they need to make strong financial decisions. Last week, members of our team had the privilege of doing a financial literacy school visit at the Young Women’s Preparatory Academy, where we met with students to share practical lessons on money management and the importance of financial literacy.
Who We Met and Why It Matters
This special visit was made possible with the support of Henny Cristobol, M. Ed., Workforce Development Manager at the City of Miami, who helped connect Salarly with the school. We are grateful for his dedication to expanding opportunities for students in the community through visits like this.
The masterclass was also made possible thanks to the warm welcome from Mrs. Maribel Rivera, Principal of Young Women’s Preparatory Academy, and Mr. Paul Pfeiffer, Assistant Principal, who are deeply committed to preparing their students for success both inside and outside the classroom. During our school visit, their support ensured a productive and engaging experience.
Our CEO, Ms. Nara Aguiar, opened the session by sharing Salarly’s vision of financial empowerment and why access to clear, practical education is essential for building confidence with money.
Ms. Jessica Tafurt, Head of Compliance at Salarly LLC, walked students through the importance of financial responsibility when it comes to credit and explained how safe financial practices today can shape future opportunities.
Finally, Ms. Tykirah Harris, Junior Marketing Analyst, brought energy and relatability to the conversation, helping students connect everyday decisions with long-term financial goals.
A Day to Remember
The excitement in the room was contagious. To break the ice, students played a quick roulette-style game where they answered financial trivia questions for a chance to win Starbucks gift cards. For example, they were asked whether buying a $7 iced coffee every day for a week costs almost $50. The answer is true, and the students quickly realized how small daily expenses add up. The game set a lively tone and made financial literacy feel fun and approachable, marking the school visit as a memorable event.
Afterward, students engaged in our interactive presentation, Level Up Your Finances: A Game-Changing Guide to Money Management, covering topics such as budgeting basics, saving for college, financial goals, and an introduction to banking.
They left not only with new skills but also with Salarly-branded gifts, a small reminder that financial wellness can start with the tools you carry every day.
